With the transition from conventional CRT television sets to flat screen TVs, you might find yourself in the position of having to buy a new TV stand. What used to work, such as your entertainment center, may not fit these much larger and differently sized television sets.

You should measure not only the height of your flat screen television but also the width and the depth. Since flat screen televisions are thinner, you won’t need to get a television stand as deep as traditional stands, but it will most likely need to be wider to protect the entire length of the screen.

If your room is more traditional or whether it is modern, there are many TV stands to match so take your time and pick out just the right piece of furniture as it will be part of your overall interior design.

Finally, look at your overall budget. Remember that you are purchasing a large screen TV stand that you will want to keep for the life of the TV. A good quality stand may be purchased for under $200 if you spend some time investigating online sources.
